The Jungle Book flash cards

I present a teaching unit developed by Ana María King Cabezudo with his group of 25 children in Primary 6 . Together they worked in the classroom the legendary 1967 film, The Jungle Book .

first thing they did was a collective reading an adapted version of the book , that they bought. Half hour devoted to reading. Were read and commented on how oral summaries. Internet searched the author's biography, Rudyard Kipling, the film images and information about animals that come into it. Then view the movie in the auditorium of the school, Hernán Cortés de Badajoz.

After the screening, compared book film and commented on the differences they noted, his impression of the final of the characters. Keep in mind to the king of the monkeys in the movie does not appear in the book, or the death of Shere Khan in the horse (run away scared), or the death of Akela.

Students and graphics produced literary works about the book and movie.

To develop the activity took the digital board, worksheets, cards and continuous paper for murals. It also took the tent in San Aten connection with the Fair Paper for the audiovisual competition, where there was reading books for students and diplomas awarded to the other participants.
while watching the film, students were surprised by the changes with respect to the book and he finished the comment. After reading the book were more motivated to film, looking forward to seeing the characters who figured in the literary version.

The teacher stands out as difficulty short time can be devoted to this type of activity, given the broad curriculum to be given. The students' response was, however, positive. Worked motivated by the proposed activities, especially with the viewing of the film, the competition and teamwork.

EMILY DICKINSON (1830-1886) FRENCH

"No, I know, a life more passionate and more solitary than this woman. Preferred to dream and perhaps imagine the love and fear him. In his secluded village of Amhers sought the seclusion of his home and in your home, confinement of white and not be seen by the few friends he received. "Jorge Luis Borges.
In those years of closure voluntary choice that took an early age, Emily Dickinson built one of the strongest works of world literature. It was smart, rebellious, educated, and her writing has taught us.
Emily
Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830, in Amherst (Massachusetts), within a severely puritanical religious family who had eight generations living in New England. He studied at Amherst Academy and Mount Holyoke Female Seminary in Massachusetts. Dickinson, who was an active young and full of life, withdrew from society after 30 years and for the rest of his life he lived as a recluse, staying in touch with friends only through their enigmatic and epigrammatic letters. The reasons traditionally given for this isolation, for example, that experienced romantic outbursts, is now seriously questioned.

Dickinson wrote a poem very original. The first literary figure of the time to realize their worth as a poet was the clergyman and writer Thomas Higginson, who despite acknowledging his genius being his only correspondent and literary mentor advised him not to publish his work because it went against literary conventions of the time. However, his other literary friends, the novelist Helen Jackson, tried unsuccessfully to persuade her to publish a book of poems, and although in life he published only seven, after his death his papers were found among 2,000 poems, some of which were only fragments. From this material, Higginson and Mabel Loomis Todd, a friend of Amherst, edited the first selection of his works, Poems (1890), which had great popular success.

His language is simple, but its complex syntax draws a rich variety of connotations from ordinary words. His images and metaphors derived from a deep observation of nature and imagination often playful in his thinking and ingenious in expression. The first editions eliminated his characteristic use of scripts expressing the rhythm and power of his thought. The combination of universal themes expressed with an intense personal feeling and use of forms del verso familiares confieren a su poesía lírica una franqueza mística. La edición completa de su poesía, con la puntuación y estilo tipográfico originales, no se publicó hasta 1960. En 1958 se publicó una edición en tres volúmenes de su correspondencia.

Dickinson murió el 15 de mayo de 1886.

¡Noches salvajes, salvajes!
Si aquí estuvieras,
el desenfreno sería
nuestra opulencia.

¡Ya no más brújulas, mapas!
Vanos los vientos.
Vanos para un corazón
que llegó a puerto

In Eden's my boat.
Oh, the sea!
Oh, if this night could tie
in you!

Wild nights! Wild nights! Were I with thee
, Wild nights

Should Be Our luxury!

Futile the winds To a heart in port, Done with the compass
,
Done with the chart.

Rowing in Eden!
Ah! the sea! Might I moor
But
To-night in thee! ************

translates into English the following poem by Emily Dickinson. After comments on the theme and style.

May
H EART, we will forget him!
  You and I, to-night!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
  I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me, 5
my thoughts That I May dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging,
I remember him!

Names Of Shotacon Movies

the realist novel. FRANKENSTEIN

production REALISM most important novel occurs in France. In the realistic period include: Honoré Balzac, Stendhal and Gustave Flaubert. The writer and theorist of Emile Zola's Naturalism.

looking for information on the life of Flaubert (1821-1880) and created with her the first part of your comment.

The most important novel of Flaubert is certainly Madame Bovary (1857).

The novel's protagonist, Emma Bovary is a woman whom his reading romantic impulse to want to lead a life of excitement, passion and luxury that she identifies as the real life. However, its existence is set in boring places, surrounded by loved vulgar. Her husband, Charles, is one of those mediocre and Emma feels trapped in a tedious marriage that prevents you from achieving your desires. To escape his humdrum life, the protagonist is committed to loans that unable to cope and meet lovers who show such vulgar and insensitive as beings who want to flee. Emma, in line with its spirit, committed suicide at the end of the work. Madame Bovary

was a novel controversy in his own country and Flaubert had to face a trial because it was considered an immoral work. However, its influence is wide. The Regent Clarin has many points of contact with this novel.

The fragment (Chapter IX of Part I) that I have copied, Emma, from the provincial place where he lives, dreams of life in Paris, which she believes full of love and luxury.

Paris, more vague than the ocean, shining, then, in the eyes of Emma between flashes lit. Multiforme life was always in the tumult was, however, compartmentalized, separate tables classified. Emma was receiving no more than two or three, which hid all else, and represented their own humanity. The world of glittering ambassadors walked on pavements, in rooms lined with mirrors, round oval tables covered with a carpet of velvet with golden stripes. There were suits tail, great mysteries, anguish hidden under smiles. Then came the duchesses society, they were pale, got up at four, women, poor angels!, English lace wore skirts and men ignored capabilities under appearances futile burst their horses in entertainment, in summer they would go to Baden, and, finally, to the quarantine, married the heiress. In the quiet of restaurants where dinner after midnight saw the candlelight the motley crowd of men of letters and actresses. Those were prodigal as kings full of fantastic delusions ideals and ambitions. It was an existence above the others, between heaven and earth, in the storms, something sublime. The rest of the people was lost, without a precise and it does not exist. Moreover, the closer were the most diverged thinking of them. All around her immediately, rural environment boring, petty bourgeois idiots, mediocrity of existence, it seemed an exception in the world, in particular random who was imprisoned, while beyond stretched to lose sight of the vast country of joys and passions. In his desire to confuse the sensuality of luxury with the joy of the heart, elegance of manners with delicacy of feeling. Do not need love as a land of tropical plants preparations, a particular temperature? Whisper to the moonlight, long embraces, tears flowing over the hands that are abandoned, all fevers of the flesh and the languor of tenderness is not separated from the balcony of the great castles that are full of distractions, a living room with curtains of silk with a very thick carpet, with well-filled flower pots, a bed ridden on a platform or the sparkle of precious stones and gallons of the livery.

ACTIVITIES 1. Vital aspirations Emma Bovary, who lives a humdrum existence in a provincial town, are realized in one place: Paris. Emma imagines the life of the French capital and dreams of it. But his mind is focused on three social groups. What are these groups? What attracts you to each of them?

2. What do you think the character of the people who do not belong to these groups, as herself? How does life get away from the mediocre?

3. The hopes and dreams of Emma were born from reading romance novels. What is the only area in which, according to her, passionate love can be lived?

4. Do you think attitudes and behaviors such as Emma Bovary in the society of today? What forms do the dreams of greatness today?
